Italy on THURSDAY!

On Thursday, we decorated our picture frames and brought home pictures of ourselves in Italy!  We also learned all about the famous sculptor and painter, Michelangelo. We studied some of his famous works, including the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Vatican City, which he painted lying down.  Then, pretending we were Michelangelo ourselves, we painted our favorite Bible scenes lying on our backs under our desks.  It was fun...!  Later, we enjoyed our homemade pizzas!  Yum... :)  We also learned about the story of Pinocchio, which originated in Italy, and was written by Carlo Collodi.  We watched some video footage of marionette puppets from Sicily's famous Palermo Marionette Museum.  We then created our own paper Pinocchios!
